Restoring the Legendary Status
In the 1990s, Gorky Park lost much of its original character, transforming from a cultural hub into an unappealing space filled with barbecue stalls and amusement rides. Only since 2010 has a series of changes begun, aimed at reviving the park to match the standards of a modern city and the global stage. Wowhaus contributed to the creation of the first new facilities, shaping its renewed identity.

Simple Solutions
Each of Wowhaus’ projects in Gorky Park required quite modest investment although it was aimed at shaping a new paradigm of how the space was used and was attracting young Muscovites, who had already shown a strong appetite for active sports, culture, and education. As a result, the park became a new urban point of attraction.

Past not Forgotten
Leisure activities familiar to park visitors of the 1930s–1980s, such as watching films at the open-air cinema, ice skating in winter, and boating in summer, proved to be just as relevant and on demand in the 2010s–2020s.
