  • Unification and Transformation

Krasnogvardeyskie Ponds are a historical extension of the main territory of Krasnaya Presnya Park. Once, the Studenets Estate featured a single cascade pond system, but during the Soviet period, the hydrosystem was destroyed and fragmented. For many years, Krasnogvardeyskie Ponds remained a semi-abandoned local park, despite being located in central Moscow. The development project was designed to organically unite the two park areas and delicately transform the historically established structure.

  • The Park as a Courtyard

The concept was preceded by a sociological study. It allowed for a proper distribution of functions and leisure formats, based on the wishes of local residents, who primarily perceive the territory as an intimate courtyard-like space.

  • Five Functional Segments

According to the project, the park is conditionally divided into five segments, each carrying a specific function and providing the necessary infrastructure. All three ponds became highly accessible thanks to amphitheaters built into the sloping banks.

  • A Park in Red

All objects are executed in a unified stylistic language of “floating” structures with light lattice elements. The color scheme is also unified. It is shades of red, anthracite, and natural wood.

  • More Greenery for the Park

Special attention was given to additional landscaping. Into the existing green framework, perennial plants were added to emphasize the natural beauty of the ponds, while also creating a missing middle tier of shrubs and vegetation carefully selected for this territory.

  • Treehouse

The park has become a magnet for families with children from all over Moscow. A unique playground with treehouses creates engaging play scenarios.
